The Adult Education Program provides adults with disabilities with opportunities in life long learning. ABE is uniquely geared to your interests. You can learn new things or focus on keeping your skills up to date.

As a student, you set your own goals and choose what you want to learn.
Choices may include:

Reading
Classified ads, menus, books, maps, schedules, labels, recipes, TV guides, postal guide, using the library etc.

Writing
Letters, resumes, job applications, forms, writing notes, stories, directions, etc.

Math
Budgeting, using a calculator, money skills, banking skills, basic and advanced math operations, telling time, etc.

Computer Lab
Microsoft applications, basic operations, educational programs, internet, email, typing practice, etc.

Depending on your goals, you may participate in:
1. Independent learning -earn high school credit courses through correspondence
2. Basic education - maintain your skills over time
3. Group classes- get ready to find a job or prepare for more education or training

Once you have established your learning goals, you will be matched with a tutor or enrolled in a small group to begin working on your own personal learning plan. Trained tutors work flexible.

Who Can Apply?
If you wish to upgrade or maintain your skills you may be eligible.

- Be at least 16 years of age and finished school
- Be motivated to learn
- Have a disability that limits your participation in a traditional classroom setting

There are no fees for this program. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and correspondence course costs.
